To meet the wetland and stream mitigation requirements of any Montana land development project quickly, easily, and cost-effectively:
- Work with the Army Corps of Engineers to determine your project's mitigation credit requirements.
- Call Montana Mitigation Partners to arrange a straightforward purchase of wetland or stream mitigation credits in any watershed in Montana (contact info below).
- At the point of sale, release your long-term mitigation liability and proceed with your project permitting.
Credit buyers may purchase wetland and stream compensatory mitigation credits from the Umbrella Bank in every watershed in Montana.
The credit buyer works with the Army Corps of Engineers (the permitting authority for projects that fall under the jurisdiction of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act) to determine how many mitigation credits will be required of the development project. The credit purchaser then buys the requisite number of credits from the Umbrella Bank. Evidence of this purchase satisfies the Corps's compensatory mitigation permitting requirements.
At the point of sale, the mitigation responsibility transfers to Montana Mitigation Partners. Where your mitigation liability ends, ours picks up. We work with landowners, public agencies, conservation groups, biologists, and engineers to identify the most suitable stream and wetland sites for restoration and transform them into rich wildlife habitats. We work with the Army Corps of Engineers to gain approval for selected sites, develop restoration plans, meet agreed-to timeframes, and demonstrate ecological performance. The result is large-scale restoration of Montana's critical aquatic resources.
